Pretty Sprinkles for Me

This blog isn’t about me. It’s not to post selfies or lift myself up so that you’ll admire me in some way. That’s not the point of anything you’ll see written on here, and frankly, there isn’t much to admire anyway. If you ever see anything in me worth admiring, it is only because I pray every day that Christ will hide me with Himself. So please give credit where credit is due and admire Him! 😉

Neither is this a style and beauty blog. I have no intention of instructing you on how to do your hair or wear your makeup or be creative in your closet. I like some of those blogs and follow a couple of them because I need the help, lol, but that really isn’t the point of this one.

I say all that as a preface because this post is about how a few friends added sprinkles to my life recently, and it includes selfies and makeup and everything that I just mentioned! So forgive me as I go off-topic to share. 🙂

While presenting at a missions conference a couple of months ago, a lady from the church took me shopping. She said “We’re buying you anything you want or need, and it has to be for you!” This was hard for me, because I can always think of things to buy for my kids, but hate wasting money on myself. So, I thought maybe I’d pick out a pretty dress. She bought me seven! I was completely blown away by her kindness. Super-cute dresses that I absolutely love and would never have been able to purchase myself.

I don’t know about you, but nothing makes me feel more special than being treated to a new dress that makes me feel pretty!

Not only that, but last week a few friends I haven’t seen in years added me to a Facebook party for Younique makeup, which I had never heard of before. It looked really nice, but I’m normally a $5 for makeup kind of gal, so I didn’t think I’d order anything. Except that these sweet friends then sent me a message and said, “Pick out the colors you like, because we’re gifting you a starter set!”

What??!!! How cool was that?

My set came in the mail last week, and I couldn’t wait to try it out. It came in a nice cosmetic bag, and they were all full-size products, in the prettiest containers.

I tried it out right away and love it! I’ll be saving this makeup for church and special occasions. I really like the powder foundation, it covers well and goes on quicker than a cream. I might use this as an every day foundation, because its so quick and convenient, but I still feel put together.

20140409-151142.jpgMy favorite product in the set, though, is the 3D lashes. They’re A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!! You use it like mascara, but it lengthens your lashes by like 6 feet. Love it. If you’re in the market for new makeup, be sure and check out Younique by Kyla. 🙂

I feel so spoiled and loved, I just wanted to share it with you, and maybe inspire you to go add sprinkles to someone’s life today.

Proverbs 3:27 – Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

  2. First of all, super cute!! Second, it is truly amazing how the Lord blesses those who are faithful to him. I was really inspired how you shared this story.

This week a friend gave me their “old” (aka not the newest model, but still super nice) iphone! I was overwhelmed. I did not have money for this but it is a huge fun blessing.

ps found saw your comment on Kate’s blog and had to come over… life doesn’t get any better than coffee and sprinkles
