God Is Good

There are moments when heartaches like sea billows roll. In the waves, God is good.

There are days when physical pain is too much to handle, and tears of weakness fall. In the pain, God is good.

There are times when what’s in the bank doesn’t even begin to compare to the needs. In poverty, God is good.

There are nights when the lights are out, the air is heavy, and the heat is suffocating. In the unbearable, God is good.

There are those who throw words like daggers that wound the soul. In the wounding, God is good.

There is a deep weariness that comes when hardships hit one after another after another, with no rest in sight. In the weariness, God is good.

There are hours when I fight and I struggle with God, stubbornly refusing to accept his silence or his will. In the struggle, God is good.

When my children are lonely, God is good.

When I doubt him, God is good.

When I am waiting for hope, God is good.

When there is no still small voice, God is good.

When there is no earthly home, God is good.

When I am placed on the sidelines, God is good.

When I want nothing more than to quit, God is good.

When I fail, God is good.

At every closed door, God is good.

Through the darkest of valleys, God is good.

In every pit, God is good.

God is good. God is good. God is good.

He can never be anything else but good.

He sustains and he blesses.

He wounds and he heals.

He tears down and he restores.

He judges and he saves.

He is my hope and my deliverer.

He is my song and my heart’s cry.

He is my strength and the lifter up of my head.

He is love and he is home.

He Is.

And he is good.
